The G&O PetroLiminator OWS system incorporates the latest technology with low maintenance, trouble-free operation. Unlike conventional oil water separators, the PetroLiminator actually destroys oil and grease using naturally occurring microbes. Designed as an automated system, the etroLiminator works 24 hours per day, 7 days a week with little interaction required. The system’s benefits include:
- Cost Savings: Reduces offloading, maintenance, and operational costs associated with spent flocculants, filters and/or bilgewater. The operational costs of the PetroLiminator OWS system, in some cases, is up to 9 times less than competitive OWS technologies, resulting in a significantly lower Total Cost of Ownership
- Simplicity of Operation: The automated, PLC designed system typically requires less than 15 minutes per day to operate.
- Green Technology: Little or no HAZMAT materials to dispose. The microbes in the PetroLiminator consume oil and other organic wastes to produce safe end products.
- Processing of Emulsified Oils: Emulsified oils resulting from detergents, shipboard agitation and mechanical systems are easily processed by the system. Other biodegradable contaminants typically found in bilgewater can also be processed.
- Approvals: The PetroLiminator OWS system is MEPC 107(49) Type approved and is certified by the major classification societies.
- Large Processing Capacity: The PetroLiminator OWS system can process up to 20 m3 per day.
The operation of the PetroLiminator has proven to be so reliable that G&O will guarantee the operating costs with an Operating Cost Guarantee Program covering all costs of consumable items for the PetroLiminator system. This Program will provide operating cost budgetary protection for your Bilge Water Treatment system. A fixed quarterly services and consumables fee will be charged for the life of the agreement that will cover all consumable items required for normal operation of the PetroLiminator. A field service visit is included as part of the program to insure that the system operates at peak efficiency.
Bilge water is pumped through Vessels 1 and 2 for free oil separation. The emulsified water flows into the biological section, located in Vessels 3 and 4, for treatment by hydrocarbon degrading microbes. The cleaned water flows into Vessel 5 for monitoring, prior to discharge. Typical effluent levels are less than 2 ppm oil.
